Sorry to hear of your troubles but everything else sounds like a great trip.

We're in Kununurra at the moment getting our Landcruiser repaired. We'd just crossed the Pentecost River after about ten days on the Gibb and Kalumburu. We were heading up the Karinje track about a kilometre up from the Pentecost when the front hub parted company with the steering arm.

We cocked the wheels, got out the jacks and some shade and got it going with a seatbelt bolt, some tie wire and a tie down strap. The seatbelt bolt fell out so we robbed one from the other side and we took it steady.

We decided the Karinje Track would be a better option than the corrugated, busier highway. It took about four hours to get to Wyndham but we made it, checking often to check it was all tight.

We got to Wyndham to find out there's no mechanic there now, so it was on the phone to RAC. We have Premium Cover with NRMA. RAC and NRMA have been fantastic. The Landcruiser is getting repaired today the towing company were great (I'm sure it's the same mob that towed your vehucle), we have comfortable accomodation and our dog is being boarded just out of town.

Tomorrow we're heading off and we'll go backwards a bit to visit El Questro (I think).
Our travelling companions have booked into the Lakeside Park where we are, so we're all together. We wouldn't have gotten to Wyndham if it wasn't for our bush mechanics Scott and Woz, so we're really grateful.

Happy and safe travels,
Steve and Narelle.
